Afghan women and girls are slaves again, deprived of rights and freedom.
Bravely, in the streets of Kabul they shout: Afghan women exist. And they ask: support our voices, don't let us disappear! World, can you hear us?
We cannot pretend that all of this is not happening! They are there, so close, still visible, before a blue drape hides them.
“Trust, Crisis and Social Sciences” | June 23, 24 and 25, 2021
For a long time, many researchers in Europe and Latin America have been questioning the production, management and re-production of social sensibilities, researching the connections between "emotions, body and society". These researches are developed in different fields, such as education, health, knowledge production, the mass media, entertainment, sexuality, public policies and economy, to name the most “visible” audiences. In this context, the Center for Research and Sociological Studies (CIES) and the Latin American Journal of Studies on Body, Emotions and Society (RELACES) since 2016 have decided to organize meetings in Paris with researchers interested in sensibilities studies, to discuss and debate. The conference focuses on a particular but extremely significant theme
in the social sciences: the concepts of “footprint” and “trace”.
Usually associated with the digital world, the very idea of footprints
clearly gives the image of what one leaves behind without being aware
of it, a by-product of other (differently focused and oriented)
actions that remains empirically imprinted on reality.
The topic of traces will be analyzed in a broad and interdisciplinary
way, adopting quantitative and qualitative approaches, from different
disciplinary angles: sociology, semiotics, social psychology,
anthropology, legal studies, etc.
The conference will host 5 keynote speakers and 80 panelists from more
than twenty countries.
